A design that works once is not yet a product.
Between a verified design and a production line sits a body of work that is easy to underestimate: manufacturing documentation, fixtures, supplier qualification, yield, test coverage and validated processes.
New product introduction is the project that closes that gap. It ends when production is proven, not when the drawings are handed over.
Capabilities
What NPI covers.
01
Design transfer
The full transfer package: drawings, BOM, specifications, work instructions and test requirements, released into manufacturing.
02
Design for manufacturing
Design refinements that reduce cost, cycle time and defect rate without touching validated performance.
03
Pilot builds
Small controlled builds that expose assembly, tolerance and test problems before volume commitments are made.
04
Process validation
IQ, OQ and PQ on the processes that determine product quality, with the evidence retained for audit.
05
Supply chain development
Supplier qualification, dual sourcing where it matters and lead-time planning for long-lifecycle products.
06
Sustaining engineering
Change control, component obsolescence and yield improvement once production is running.
Choosing the right engagement
NPI or contract manufacturing?
New product introduction
A project. You have a validated design and need it made manufacturable: transfer documentation, design for manufacturing, pilot builds, process validation. It ends when production is proven.
Contract manufacturing
Ongoing. You have a production-ready design and need units built, tested, released and supplied, batch after batch.
Most programmes run both, in that order. Some clients arrive needing only one.
What you get
What production readiness looks like.
A released manufacturing package with controlled work instructions.
Validated processes with IQ, OQ and PQ evidence.
Qualified suppliers and a costed, buildable bill of materials.
Test fixtures and methods proven against the design requirements.
